Near Earth Object Student and Teacher Awards

During this school year the Killer Asteroid Project provided researchers worldwide with over 450 school, teacher and student research awards. 

 

The top student NEO researcher for the 2007-2008 school year is K. Flanary of Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville, NC.  Flanary made a total of 416 measures of 130 near earth objects.

The Near Earth Object outstanding teacher of the year for 2007-2008 school year goes to Lee Ann Hennig of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology at Alexandria, VA.

Top student asteroid discoveries in 2007-2008 school year goes to Y. Li of North Mount Hermon High School and K. Kelley of Cape Fear High School Fayetteville, NC who tied with 4 asteroid discoveries each.

The Astronomical Research Institute would like to personally thank the top three student researchers this year who are K. Flanary, K. Kelley and W. Lovett from Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville NC.  The Killer Asteroid Project would also like to thank Harlan Devore as the teacher who made the largest number of Near Earth Object measures for the 2007- 2008 school year.  Your help in this NEO project this school year was greatly appreciated.
